Well here we are already in the middle of May. Not much has changed in the land of "LOS SUN" (not). Arizona approved the illegal immigrations bill (that's a HUGE victory down here and you will only understand if you live here). NO 100 DEGREE DAYS, AS OF YET!!
Kelly is still plugging away at TriWest Health Care. Promises, promises and more promises. Hopefully something pays off soon, or they may end up with a lot less production. Doing 2 jobs and getting paid for 1 just doesn't seem fair. July will be the telltale month.
As for me, looking for another job or at least a part-time one to help pay the hockey fees next year and get the girls into some gymnastic or dance classes. Get our life back to normal (or at least what we were used to doing). Deric has improved so much in hockey - he will be trying out for some AA and AAA clubs this summer ($$$$$$). The girls are cartwheeling and jumping around the living room all the time - they need to get into some classes. The High School hockey coach is looking to give up his job, and thanks to Jimmy my name has been dropped in the hat (not sure I want this, but I guess it's not as bad as a travel coach (so I've heard) - so I'll see).
Deric is graduating middle school tonight. Big ceremony at the High School. We think he's happy to finally move on to High School. He's ready, pretty mature for his age. MOM & DAD are proud parents:). He did not make the final 6 to attend the Salt Lake Hockey camp, but after attending we found out it's all politics (won't do that again).
Cierra has been with her friends on a daily basis. She even hangs out with a girl that her dad makes his own BEER (I'm liking this)...... She's growing into a fine little woman. She helps me with supper, helps mom clean and keeps her room in prefect shape.
Brianna and Destiny hang out together a lot. They do get their own time also with sleepovers and going to their friends houses. These 2 have started to take care of their room too and help clean up after supper. Destiny likes doing her own hair in the mornings now (We think Brianna helps her, but she doesn't know we know).
Jason moved out about a month ago. He's living near/in Rockford, Illinois with his girl and her 3 kids. Haven't heard much from him (only if I call). Guess that's the thanks parents get when they continue to help to long/much. We wish them luck.
No big summer plans for the family. We will try to get away a weekend here and there just to keep our sanity.

Time goes by.
Well it now been a year (March 20th), that Kelly's mom has past away. Last Saturday was an emotional time for the family. We love and miss you "GRANDMA", "MOM"!
The hockey season is winding down. Tonight starts the league playoffs. Hopefully we can surprise a team or two. Double elimination, so we hope to be playing this weekend. Deric has been invited to a camp run by the Phoenix Coyotes and attended by a few College and Jr. hockey coaches. The camp begins next Monday and runs the entire week. He will be competing against other kids from the state of Arizona. They will pick 6 offensive, 3 defensive players and 1 goalie to advance to Salt Lake City for Regional competition. From there the next move would be the Nationals in Chicago. He still wants to play for the Wisconsin Badgers. We'll keep everyone posted.
The rest of the family is just waiting on the hockey season to end so we can move onto doing other things. We all love going to the rink, but it's time for us all to relax and get away from it for awhile.
I'm waiting to hear from Transpac Avaition Academy (at Deer Valley Airport) on a Supervisory position I interviewed for about a month ago. Talked with them last week and they are still in the process of writing a job description (it's a new position) and maybe more interviews. I have a friend who knows the Presidents A.A., so we'll see. It would be a huge raise.......Crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, etc. etc. etc.........
Jason has finished all of his classes and can finally get his license back if he doesn't have any hold ups from Wisconsin. Things are looking up!
The girls are getting bigger by the day. Cierra and Destiny have birthday's coming up in April. Cierra (11), Destiny (7). Wow, just 11 more years and we will be through round 2 (and the final round), with kids in the house. Brianna had a tough go at it in school in the beginning. Grades were not to good, but the good news is - she has turned it completely around. Report cards came out yesterday and she's a "B" student (hip hip hooray!!!!). All the kids had trouble adjusting when we arrive, but everyone has come through with flying colors......
Easter weekend soon. Mom and the girls will be attending "Disney on Ice" with Grandpa. Then we have and Easter Egg hunt at Peoria Sports Complex and then a Parade. Busy, busy, busy. A very busy life with 4 kids.
No travel plans for this year, just can't afford it right now. Hopefully some raises on the way and things could change. In the meantime, we'll just enjoy the AZ weather and a cold brewski or 12:).

Time flys when you're having FUN:)
Wow, it's already February 2010!!! Can't believe it.
Well we visited the homeland (Wisconsin) in January for a hockey tournament. We ended up taking 2nd place. Lost the Championship game 3-2 (ouch). The team had a GREAT weekend and SHAW Hockey treated us GREAT too!!!! The team enjoyed the snow (just ask the cops that showed up at the hotel for snowball throwing). Not a big deal, kind of funny actually. Glad I didn't have to handle that.
Since we've returned it's been the house of the sickies. Kelly is still coughing after her case of pneumonia and returned to the doctor yesterday because it was so intense. More meds and she missed a day and a half of work this week.
Last week I had the coughs and seems bronchitis too. I was off the entire week, tried to go in and they sent me back home. Still coughing here & there and some are pretty intense too. Feels like your gagging.
The kids so far have not gotten whatever it is we really have (thank god!).
This Friday is the Father/Daughter dance at school. Jimmy offered to help me (ha! ha!). But I think I can handle it. The girls are really excited.
Mom's been busy with school projects one after another (don't they know how many kids we have???). Seems one's finishing a project and the next is starting one.
Mom and Dad need some alone time:) Have to take 1/2 days off to get any of that.
More and more kids seem to be calling and showing up at the front door. The kids are making a lot of friends this year in school. They are outside everynight (after homework is done).
We have 9 more league hockey games to play before the end of season playoffs (the week of March 26th). May end up in one more tournament in Riverside, California the weekend of March 13-14. Still waiting on word from the tournament director. We will be in Las Vegas for 2 league games on February 20-21 (probably just Deric and I), some father/son time away.
Schools been going ok for the kids. Grades have dropped a little so it's back to the kitchen table when mom gets home and all work gets done before they go out. That means dad makes supper when he gets home around 5:45pm (if we don't have practice or off-ice training).

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Merry Christmas to you all, and have a safe New Year.
Well things are moving along in the Grand Canyon State. Kids are getting excited about Christmas.
Deric just got over pneumonia, and now Kelly and Destiny have been pretty sick the past couple of days. Just can't seem to get the bug out of our house (even though we have the windows and doors open all day:).
Big news is Kelly finally received compensation for the job she's been doing. FINALLY:) Yippee!!!
She got about 1/2 of what was promised, but the plan now is to get the other 1/2 in April. We'll take it (she's a lot happier about it now).
Cierra and Brianna will be seeing the eye doctor again after the New Year and probably be wearing glasses shortly after that. Destiny keeps begging to get some too. Wow when I had to get them, I didn't think it was fun at all. Cierra also will need braces in 2010, probably do that around the September time frame. The joy of raising kids:)
Deric will have 3 tournaments in about a 4 week period (Dec 27-30, in Arizona - Jan 8-10, in Milwaukee and Jan 15-18 back in Arizona). Busy, busy, busy.
Nothing new with me, I'm just "LIVING THE DREAM"!!
Before you know it, Spring Training will be underway. I can see the Cubs moving to Florida now that I'm down here (time to switch to the Brewers - NOT!). Chicago Blackhawks will be here in March too. Looks like the Packers might be here twice in January (that's if they even make the playoffs).

HAPPY TURKEY WEEKEND EVERYBODY:)
Well what's been going on in the Storbeck household......hhhmmmmm:)
We are the Energizer Bunny Family i think - going, going, and more going.
Destiny is off her medication for her seizures so we have to watch for any signs of them. She made student of the month this year and is doing very well in school. She really loves it.
Brianna is doing well. She is the only one of the kids that didn't get sick the first quarter and she made perfect attendance, shortly after that she was off a couple of days with the flu. She went to eye doctor and he says she needs glasses, so we'll be taking care of that next. She's loving the weather, playing outside all the time and meeting new kids in the neighborhood.
Cierra is done with Cross-Country and finished very well. Mom & Dad are proud of her efforts. Cierra made Honor Roll in the first quarter, it's the first time and she is SSSSSSSOOOOOOO proud (so were Mom & Dad)!!! Cierra also is in the needs glasses category.
Deric is playing great hockey. Again he leads the team in scoring, he's a monster on ice. He also is a certified referee and ref-ed his first game last weekend (didn't like it as much as he though, we'll see where this goes). He's getting HUGE (155 pounds, I didn't weigh that until I came back from Military Basic Training at age 21). He'll turn 14 in December. Rough year health wise for DJ, he's had H1N1 flu and now has been home this week with Pneumonia.
Mom is doing well. Supposedly her job is going to be upgraded (heard that before) and she'll get a significant raise sometime in January (hopefully). She's still at the kitchen table for a couple of hours a night before dad gets home, doing homework with the girls. It must work, because their grades are showing it. Kelly celebrated her 44th birthday on November 23rd. We had Norman, Norm, Jimmy and Jeannie over and cooked out on the grill. The girls all made Mom their own special birthday cards, which made mom very happy!
Dad, well dad is dad. Still working (thank god) though classes are getting smaller with not a huge future in the airline industry, but things are looking better starting in April (double course). Still enjoying the weather and sipping a few cocktails now and then outside. Coaching this year has been the toughest ever. Parents bitching, kids quitting, kids crying (yes crying at the Bantam level), but yet for some ungodly reason I continue (I can't give up on the kids, that's what it's all about). The team is getting better and we are starting to compete better. As I told the parents in the beginning, it's going to be a marathon not a sprint and to be patient (I think they forgot this part of it). Oh well this is my last year of coaching, next year I'm going to sit back and actually enjoy watching DJ play.

Fall has begun!!
Well the temps are back in the 80's & 90's, it's beautiful:) Kids are outside all the time. They play up & down the road, in the greenbelt and occasionally walk to the store (right in back of the house). The ice cream man seems to know where to come to on the weekends $$$$$. I guess the ice cream we buy at the store just can't compete:). It's fun watching their faces as soon as they hear the music.
Well not much has changed in the great state of Arizona.
Deric is in hockey and that's in full bloom now. Tournaments in California, Wisconsin and a weekend in Las Vegas (league games). Have to find a part time job to keep up with this travel thing.
Girls haven't joined dance yet, but that will be coming up too. This will be mom's travel:)
Cierra has an outdoor education trip this week (camping trip for school). Three day, two night trip up north a bit. She can't wait.
School is going well, seems everyone is doing just fine.

We'll need the extra cash - both trucks have problems and haven't gotten her's back from the shop yet (not pretty). OUCH$$$$

Hoping the Packers can start playing like they did in pre-season (where the hell did the defense go????) All that trickery in pre-season was just a smoke screen I guess. Thank god for Taucher coming back!!!!!
